Description

Dating from the reign of Henry VIII (1491-1547), this was the main royal residence from 1698 to 1837. Nowadays it serves as the London residences of the Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Kent and Princess Alexandra. The palace also contains the offices of the Royal Household, and holds certain official ceremonies. Foreign ambassadors are always accredited to the Court of St James even if they are received at Buckingham Palace.
