Description
The thoroughfare made up of Whitehall (formerly called King Street) and Parliament Street is lined by government buildings; this is very much the nation's seat of power. Visitors emerging from the unique and glorious vestige of the Palace of Whitehall that is the Banqueting House may head across towards the mounted sentries outside the building known as Horse Guards (the official entrance to Buckingham Palace), but don't expect them to smile!
