Useful information

Description

The buildings on the east and south sides of the square were built in Portland stone in the Adam style from 1790 to 1793; those to the west and north were completed in stucco 40 years later. Note the monumental columns on the east side of the square, echoed by smaller columns at each end and by the decor on the southern side of the square. Virginia Woolf once lived at n° 29.
