This hotel, which has 130 bedrooms opened its doors for the first time on the 24th May 1906 under César Ritz's management. The establishment was an immediate success with the decadent classes of Edwardian society. Famous Monarchs have been regular clientelle of the Ritz (Edward VII, the duke and duchess of Windsor, the Queen Mother Elisabeth), as well as billionaires (Aga Khan, Onassis), film stars (Rita Hayworth) and other famous people (Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill).
