Useful information

Description

In the context of his "industrial city" project, brainchild of Lyon architect, Tony Garnier (1869-1948), in which utopia and reason are closely entwined, the Grande Halle of La Mouche abattoirs was built in 1914. The 18,000m² contiguous edifice is 24m high and entirely devoid of supporting pillars. Neglected for many years, this masterpiece of glass, iron and concrete architecture has become a venue for shows and concerts.
