Useful information

Description

Puerta Alcalá, a gate on Plaza de la Independencia, was built in 1778 by Sabatini to commemorate Charles III's triumphant entry into Madrid. It is even more majestic at night and commands fantastic vistas over the town: you can see Plaza de Cibeles, Calle de Alcalá and the beginning of Gran Vía.
