Useful information

Description

This museum pays tribute to the natural geological heritage of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. It showcases a rich collection of minerals and fossils (rare mineral samples and splendid gold nuggets). A multimedia exhibit simulates an earthquake and shows a mining map. In summertime, it is also possible to tour the largest open-pit gold mine, the Mine Canadian Malartic, in activity in Canada.
