Useful information

Description

With the largest nave of all the churches in England, the cathedral is divided into five bays with splendid stained-glass windows - these have replaced the originals, which were destroyed during the war. The rood screen is an exceptionally intricate wooden piece. In the choir, there are incredible engravings on the stalls and their canopies. The misericords, dating back to about 1500, humorously describe life in the Middle Ages.
