Description

In the former 17C Santa Chiara convent, this museum, named after a famous archaeologist from Matera, houses a collection of archaeological equipment, that is all the more the fascinating as Matera illustrates the presence of human activity as early as the Palaeolithic Age (from the Quaternary to 10,000 before our era). The museum is devoted to prehistory and ancient Greece.
