Safari amateurs will be in seventh heaven at the sight of the herds of wild elephants crossing the national park of Kaudulla, between those of Somawathiya Chaitiya and Minneriya. You will also be able to observe endangered felines, in particular, the small leopard cat of India. In the dry season, it is a haven for many birds.
