Useful information

Description

Housed in a former 17C Carmelite convent, the Cour d'Or museum charts the rich history of Metz and its region. The archaeology section covers the city's brilliant Gallo-Roman, Merovingian and Medieval periods. The architecture collections showcase the remains of civil and religious architecture (reconstituted façades and houses). The Fine Arts section includes works by the leader of the Metz School, Laurent-Charles Maréchal and there is also a gallery of modern art.
