Description

The elegant classical Place de la Comédie was built around the 18C opera house, the oldest working theatre in France. It is framed by historic buildings, the Pavillon de la Douane (Customs house) and the Pavillon Saint-Marcel and stands opposite the former Hôtel des Intendants, rebuilt after a fire in 1803, which is now used by the département's administrative services.
