Useful information

Description

Barnacle State Historic Park (2ha) stands in a bayfront site and is home to one of the last patches of tropical hardwood hammock in Coconut Grove, as well as the oldest house in Miami (1891), which used to belong to Ralph Middleton Munroe. It was built according to the principles of Bahamian architecture, well suited to the region's tropical climate. The house is virtually as it was in Munroe's day; his shipbuilding tools are showcased in the 1926 boathouse.
