Useful information

Description

The archaeological site of Túcume, stretching over 220ha, is home to the remains of some 26 pyramids (600-1000AD). Built in an arid valley by the Lambayeques (or Sicán) before the Incas took up abode here, they were probably part of a city. Don't miss the Templo de la Piedra Sagrada, the excavation of which has given us an insight into the rites of this civilisation, and the Huaca Larga, by far the largest pyramid of all.
