The 13C Christos Elkomenos Church has pride of place on the peaceful main square of Monemvasia, flooded with sunlight. Adorned with an elegant Venetian portal (17C) decorated with two parading peacocks, this sanctuary houses several icons. Opposite, a 16C former mosque contains the town's small archaeological collection.
