Description

Rebuilt by King Dinis in the 13C, a second surrounding wall with bastions was built in the 17C. From the rampart walk the panoramic view is magnificent over the Alentejo countryside planted with olive trees and cork oaks. The former courtyard, with seats around the edge, plays host to the touradas (bullfights) held every September.
