From the top of this isolated hill (375 m), you can enjoy extensive panoramic views. To the west is the Woëvre and the Côtes de Meuse, to the north-east is the Lac de Madine and the body of water at Nonsard-Pannes. The Americans erected a monument at the summit in commemoration of the offensive of 12-16 September 1918, which ultimately enabled them to take the St-Mihiel salient and capture 15 000 prisoners. The building's columns form a rotunda, around the top of which there run the names of the American units who fought in this sector. A monumental stairway leads up to the rotunda.
