Description

A large contemporary building houses this museum. Visitors are introduced to the local industrial heritage, the spectacle-makers of yesterday and today, and, through a film, the history of industry in Morez and the techniques of manufacturing metal frames that are its speciality. The fascinating Essilor-Pierre Marly Collection (350 pieces on display) takes you on a journey through the history of this tool that has become a fashion accessory. Also on display are 17C-19C paintings (Flemish and Lyon Schools).
