Description

Pedestrian Nikolskaya Street in the Kitay-Gorod neighbourhood is lined in handsome 19C edifices, now the home of luxury boutiques, representative of the neo-Russian style in fashion at the time. The Monastery of the "Holy Saviour behind the icon row", named after an old icon market, as well as the Nikolsky Art Nouveau galleries and the Holy Synod Printing Works, are reminders of the street's commercial and cultural past.
