This large shaded pond is a totally unexpected haven of peace in the heart of the city! Swans glide disdainfully on the surface of the pond - which once belonged to the Patriarchs - flanked by buildings. Literary types will enjoy remembering the first pages of The Master and Margarita, the famous novel by Mikhail Bulgakov (1891-1940) which takes place in this serene environment.
