This may well be the most accomplished Stalin-era skyscraper in Moscow. Finished in 1951, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was designed by architects Vladimir Gelfreich and Mikhail Minkus. The iconic steeple on the top has currently been removed for restoration purposes. Although not part of the initial project, it was added on the express demand of Stalin himself.
