Useful information

Description

The woods and meadows, high-altitude lakes and fir forests at the foot of the "blue line of the Vosges", between Kaysersberg, Munster and the Col du Bonhomme, are a great draw for hikers, who can take paths leaving from the Trois-Épis, the Black Lake and the White Lake. French-sounding place names are much in evidence here. In Welche territory (or "the land of western foreigners"), where the Alsatian dialect has never been spoken, the dialect has Latin rather than Germanic roots.
