Description

Formerly Place Louis XVI, it is one of the rare public squares of France in which a statue of the monarch remains, here perched on a 28m/92ft-high pedestal. Commissioned in 1790, it was inaugurated in 1823 and is lined by 18C mansions built according to designs by Ceineray (1722-1821).
