Description
After the death of her husband, American photographer Alfred Stieglitz, painter Georgia O'Keeffe donated their personal art collection to the galleries of the Fisk university, which is reserved for African-Americans. Today, the Carl Van Vechten Art Gallery has over 100 paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures by outstanding artists from Stieglitz and O'Keeffe to Cézanne, Picasso and Rivera. The Aaron Douglas Gallery displays works by African-American artists.
