Description

Designed by Stanford White to resemble the Grand Trianon at Versailles, this residence was built for one of Newport's most celebrated hostesses, Mrs Hermann Oelrichs. Its grand ballroom was the setting for some of Newport's most spectacular events; scenes from the 1974 film The Great Gatsby were filmed here.
