Description

The Town Hall, an example of Victorian Gothic at its most confident, was built by Edward Godwin around 1860, when he was only 28. The exterior is adorned with sculptures of kings and queens, while the main hall is decorated with impressive paintings by Colin Hill, representing historical portraits and scenes.
