Situated between the orchards around Lake Constance and the snowy peaks of the Alps, Allgäu is surrounded by hills, lakes and rivers, making this a perfect base for hikers. This region is not Bavarian in culture but rather Alemannic, a culture shared by the Swiss, Austrians and Germans. Here, farming traditions are alive and well, the cheeses are delicious and cows and horses graze happily in the fields. A delightful place to visit, where the Nebelhorn and Fellhorn mountain peaks offer stunning views.
