Useful information

Description

Edvard Munch (1863-1944) bequeathed all his works to the city of Oslo. Thanks to this donation and compositions acquired at a later date, the collection now boasts 1 100 canvases and 18 000 prints, drawings, letters etc. The Munch Museum was opened in 1963 and the paintings here are displayed on rotation. A visit to the museum provides an opportunity to admire the rich diversity of the artist's works, while temporary exhibitions highlight connections between his work and that of other artists.
