Useful information

Description

The Palazzo Zisa, a residence for pleasure and relaxation built in 1166 for William de Hauteville, is one of Palermo's most important Arab-Norman sites, standing in the middle of a huge garden known as the Genoard. The building is now home to a collection of artefacts, mostly from Egypt (Mamluk and Ottoman period) but also from the Mediterranean Basin. The mashrabiya are of particular interest.
