Description

This church stands in Kato Paphos, in the middle of a huge field of excavations: archaeologists have unearthed the vestiges of a huge palaeo-Christian basilica, of which some fine marble paving has survived. You will also see St Paul's Pillar. According to tradition, the apostle was attached to it and whipped during his trip to the island as a missionary, on account of Roman hostility.
