closed for renovation. Reopening planned in spring 2020
One of the leading museums dedicated to Asiatic art in Europe, the Musée Cernuschi has reopened after three years of restoration work. Its extended display areas are home to 900 works highlighting the most important periods of Chinese civilisation from Neolithic times to the 13C. The 4.40m-high Japanese buddha, bought by Henri Cernuschi in 1871 in the small temple in the Meguro district in Tokyo and for which the mansion was built, is without doubt the museum's most outstanding exhibit.
