Useful information

Description

The National Library on Rue de Richelieu had become too small, so it was decided to transfer the printed books and periodicals to this site, designed by Dominique Perrault. Four 80m-high glass towers symbolise open books. The reading rooms, accessible across a vast rectangular esplanade covered in exotic wood, surround a "forest" of Scotch pine. High-quality temporary exhibitions.
