Useful information

Description

In the centre of the square, a smaller copy of the celebrated Lion de Belfort, (by Bartholdi, author of the Statue of Liberty) commemorates the defence of the city by Colonel Denfert-Rochereau in 1870-1871. The two elegant Nicolas Ledoux pavilions are all that remains of the former "Square of Hell".
