The Elizabethan poet Philip Sidney (1554-1586) lived in this manor (1346) which was subsequently enlarged in Tudor, James I and neo-Gothic styles. The interior is a similar mix of styles. A charming Toy Museum, occupying the manor's outbuildings, displays a collection of 19C dolls, rocking horses and puppets.
