The Canadian Canoe Museum boasts a magnificent collection of watercraft, including over 600 dugouts, kayaks and rowing boats. Examples of boats include West Coast dugouts, Inuit kayaks, a Kutenal canoe from central British Columbia and a Mandan Bull boat used by the First Nations Plains people. Paddles, models and artefacts are also on display. A section is devoted to prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and his birchbark canoe and buckskin jacket.
