Situated to the south of Loei, the Phu Kradung national park has around 350km2 of unique landscapes for hikers to explore, including forests teeming with numerous species of trees, carnivorous plants, and flowers as a result of the temperate climate here. It is well worth climbing to the top of the Phu Kradung peak (1 360m), a 60km2 platform reached after a challenging ascent, particularly the final few metres.
