The Michelin Guide's review
Note the lower part of the Platform of Venus, a richly decorated talud-tablero altar. A mask emerging from a hybrid (serpent-eagle-jaguar) creature is framed by Venus (half-star), the Pop (royal mat) and the symbol for the fifty-two year "century" (a bundle of reeds). Above it slithers a plumed serpent similar to the ones at Teotihuacán.
