Description

The Regional Historical Museum charts the history of Pleven and the region, from Antiquity until the present day. The extremely rich Prehistory and Antiquity section showcases the superb Thracian treasure of Valcitran, consisting of gold receptacles (8C BCE). The medieval section presents icons, carved doors, models of churches and splendid gold horsemen. Other sections are devoted to ethnography, 19-20C history through its major conflicts and natural history.
