Description

Napoleon I converted these two buildings originally used to house artillery officers into his "Imperial palace", as the building was known at the time, in which he attempted to create his own court. Napoleon's camp bed (a four-poster!) is the only piece of furniture exhibited which actually belonged to the Emperor. Also on display is the bathtub designed for Pauline Borghese, Napoleon's favourite sister and the only member of his family, along with his mother, to come and visit him during his exile.
