Useful information

Description

Built after 1812 to protect the communication line between Montreal and Kingston against a possible attack by the Americans, this small earthen fort includes officers' quarters and a three-storey stone blockhouse, restored to reflect its 1840s appearance. Costumed guides can be seen on the grounds of this national historic site, including some attired in British regimental uniforms of the period.
