Description

This monastery (18C-19C) stands on the summit of the same name, the highest point in Santorini, which commands a fine view. Its austere walls call to mind a fortress. You get a sense of its former wealth from the magnificence of its katholikon, which houses a gilded carved wood iconostasis.
