Description

Allow at least two and a half days for Tana Toraja, in the highlands of South Sulawesi. From Rantepao, the main town, explore Lemo and its tongkonan, large houses on stilts, whose roofs look like upside-down boat's hulls. Other highlights include the buffalo market of Bolu and the splendid bulls of Ke'te Kesu. Between July and September, you might even get to attend the most important funeral ceremonies, when Toraja émigrés return home.
