Useful information

Description

Built in 1933 in a Modernist style, the raw concrete and metal port building underwent a remarkable transformation to become a museum in the early 2000s. The vast rooms of Reykjavík Art Museum house temporary contemporary art exhibitions and installations, some of which prove to be quite surprising. It constitutes a good opportunity to discover local talents, as well as works by Erró (alias Guðmundur Guðmunsson), Icelandic master of collage and pop art.
