The town hall, located in Hôtel Amblimont, dominates this square flanked by houses, whose Neoclassical façades are adorned with rockwork balconies. Opposite, a huge fountain depicts the Ocean and the Charente River mixing their waters. Cinema buffs will easily recognise the square where Jacques Demy shot many scenes from the film Les Demoiselles de Rochefort.
