Description

The Area Sacra is the name given to the archaeological site excavated from 1926 to 1929 on Largo Argentina. Composed of four temples (three rectangular, and a circular one at the centre) oriented eastwards, the site dates from the Republican period (6C-1C BC). Archaeologists have yet to ascertain to which gods these temples were dedicated.
