Useful information

Description

The rich decoration of this church belies the fact that it was founded in the 4C on the site of a titulus, a private house used as a place of Christian worship. The church was burnt down in 1519 and completely rebuilt in the 16C and 17C. In 1683, Carlo Fontana designed the slightly concave Baroque façade. The single nave with side chapels, typical of the Renaissance, was designed by Jacopo Sansovino (1486-1570).
