The high-perched 7C Romanesque church, the bridge spanning the Sarthe, the pretty riverside gardens and the old stone houses form a remarkably well-preserved picture. The charming village of St-Céneri-le-Gérei has inspired more than one artist in its time from Corot and Courbet to Buffet. Some of their murals are still visible on the walls of the former Moisy inn, where they stayed.
