The Michelin Guide's review
A French overseas collectivité territoriale, windswept and often shrouded in mist, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a rocky, barren archipelago lying around 25km off the southern coast of Newfoundland. The two main islands, Saint-Pierre, the smaller but more populated, and Miquelon, the beauty of which is unspoilt, are joined by the sandy Isthmus of Langlade. With fishing under threat, tourism is an essential part of income of inhabitants, who are French-speaking.
