Housed in a whimsical purple structure (1991, Ricardo Legorreta) that resembles building blocks, this bilingual (English-Spanish) museum dominates Guadalupe River Park. Hands-on exhibits and programs are geared to families and school-age children. Highlights include Streets, an intersecting corridor demonstrating the workings of urban infrastructure; Current Connections, an introduction to electricity; interactive arts and nature exhibits; and activity areas designed to teach cultural diversity. A variety of performers are featured in the museum's theater.
