This Quay, where St Petersburg newlyweds like to pose as they leave the "Wedding Palace" (n° 28), is a nice place for a walk. Favoured by the English in the 18C (thus its name), the quay is lined with fine townhouses. Note the Naryshkin House (n° 10), described by Tolstoy in War and Peace, and the delicate pink and white palace (n° 4) built for the Comtesse de Laval, a cultural hub in the 19C.
